Mark Burton is a leader in Bain’s Pricing, Customer Strategy & Marketing, Advanced Manufacturing & Services and Private Equity practices.
Mark has over 23 years’ experience consulting on B2B pricing, sales and commercial strategy. He has worked across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, semiconductors and high-tech capital equipment, software and business services.
Mark is a recognized expert in developing value-based pricing programs and a co-author of Pricing with Confidence: Ten Ways to Stop Leaving Money on the Table. His insights on new business models, specifically equipment-as-a-service, were recently featured in SAP Press' 2022 book Business as Unusual with SAP: How Leaders Navigate Industry Megatrends.
Since joining Bain in 2018, Mark has advised clients across industries on pricing and commercial strategy, core growth and developing pricing as a critical organizational capability. He has also contributed to numerous commercial due diligence efforts and post-acquisition full-potential value creation plans.
Mark currently serves on the board of Bikes Not Bombs, a nonprofit organization that uses reclaimed bicycles to provide economic and social mobility to underserved populations in greater Boston and the Global South.
Prior to joining Bain, he co-founded one of the leading pricing consulting boutiques and led the pricing practice for another large consulting firm.
He holds an MBA from Boston University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Union College.
